WHAT IS A RAD TECH ASSISTANT?

Radiologic Technologist Assistants aid the work of Radiologic Technologists contributing to the examination and diagnosis process. They perform technical as well as clerical duties, contributing to the work of the medical team. They communicate with patients, while serving as facilitators and assisting with diagnostic exams using various radiology modalities.

It will be your job to check-in patients, prepare and educate patients for their medical imaging examination, assist with positioning, procedures, and transporting patients among other tasks. Other responsibilities may include but not limited to; maintaining patient information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines, scheduling exams, and ensuring polices and procedures of the organization are properly adhered to. Medical Imaging Assistants make for the best radiologic technologists! All classes within the program will provide college credits that can be applied towards an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology at John Patrick University, which provides an excellent pathway to advancing your career in the future.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

The minimum requirement for entry into the program is a high school diploma or GED. BLS certification will be provided to all students as part of the coursework and is not required upon admission to the program.

Enrollment is offered 3x per year in January, May and September.

Enrollment closes 10 days prior to the start of any semester.

Flexible payment plans are available

Tablets will be provided to all students.

Uniforms will be provided to all students prior to the start of clinical rotations.
