The Advanced Imaging MRI Registry Review Course for Radiologic Technologists includes 16 hours of detailed review of the full range of technical concepts students will need to learn in order to function as a technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This comprehensive survey course will refresh your skills and understanding of the all aspects of MRI.


Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the level and nature of care provided in MRI.
  • Describe the basic concepts of magnetism, excitation, and relaxation
  • Describe the various methods for generating MRI image contrast
  • Describe the basic pulse sequences and imaging parameters used in MRI
  • Understand the need for and use of contrast agents
  • Describe the process by which image data is acquired, processed, and stored
  • Recite the basic artifacts encountered in MRI, their causes and how to correct them
  • Understand the Complex nature of MRI safety and the role the technologist plays
  • Understand the basics of cross sectional anatomy and imaging procedures
