Day 1: Thursday, June 11, 2026 – Welcome & Career Exploration

Welcome & Orientation
We will welcome students and provide an overview of the Emergency Medicine & Trauma program, including expectations, safety guidelines, and learning objectives.

Career Exploration with Dr. Giovanniello
Students will explore a variety of real-world healthcare career pathways, including:

• Nursing: Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Physician Assistant (PA)
• Physicians: MD and DO specialties including Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and Surgery
• Emergency Medicine: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Medical Imaging: Radiography, Sonography, CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine
• Therapeutic Sciences: Radiation Therapy

CPR Training for General Public
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training to provide a general introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a CPR certified by the American Heart Association.

Day 2: Friday, June 12, 2026– Clinical Basics Lab

Hands-On Emergency Skills Training

Students will be introduced to fundamental clinical and emergency care skills, including:

• Patient assessment and communication
• Measuring and interpreting vital signs
• Oxygen delivery techniques
• Basic electrocardiogram (ECG) principles

Day 3: Saturday, June 13, 2026 – Trauma & Emergency Response Simulation

Students will participate in immersive, real-world emergency scenarios focused on:

• Bleeding control techniques
• Rapid trauma assessment
• Emergency response and decision-making

Day 4: Sunday, June 14, 2026– Cardiac Arrest Simulation

Team-Based Code Response

Students will practice coordinated emergency response during a simulated cardiac arrest, including:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques
• Code Blue team roles and communication
• Coordinated emergency intervention
